What's Your Type?

I don't normally like to put labels on myself, however, in certain situations I think it can give you some insight on who you are and allow you to be proud of yourself.  Finding your place in life, something you are passionate about is so important in order to have a good quality of life.  At this time in my life I have a great career, working with special needs students is truly my passion and makes me so content, while still challenging me ;).  Being (at times) a realistic person I know that not everyone has found their perfect career and I always want to help those people find their place in life because I know how happy it has made me!  For two semesters (I have taken a little break from grad school) I was studying to become a school counselor because I wanted to help students start carving out their paths in this confusing, ever-changing world.  A little information on me, I truly love and enjoy guiding and helping people in their lives.  I tell people that ask for my advice to just accept that finding your perfect career can be daunting for some and may take some time, but know that everyone has a place and everyone will find it.  There are a few resources I have found through my counseling education and through my own curiosity and searching that have helped me and those who I have guided, maybe they can work for you too.  Even if you are completely satisfied with your career and do not have any interest in ever changing careers, the website I have posted at the bottom of this post is a good resource for anyone to learn a little bit more about their personality, why they like their current position so much, their relationships, and its just fun to learn about yourself!

My belief, and what I find very useful to others, is that knowing your personal strengths and understanding yourself will help to guide you to your passion and your perfect career.  This "personality test" will show you your strengths as well as your weaknesses, it will help you with your job search or if you're not looking for a new career it will help you in your current position teaching you how to tweak things to make you even more satisfied.

Here is the link to the Career Test website that I find very useful:

http://www.careertest.net/

Follow the links on the left and take the test, be very honest or the test will not help you at all.  After you take the test you will be given a four letter code.  You will use that code to look up your personality type, your traits, what jobs may suit you best, as well as many other things you may be curious about.  Hope this helps with whatever it is your are looking for help with.  I am so happy with my career and I still have fun taking these tests and looking up my personality and my characteristics.  In my next post I might share my type and what I need to work on and what I just need to accept and learn to love about myself!  Hope you have fun with this too, and I hope it helps you a lot.

Have an absolutely lovely day!

Trust Thyself

We all have times where we feel someone close to us is not trusting us even though we are being honest. Simply put, who cares? You're telling the truth right? But we do care because someone is attacking our character. There is absolutely nothing you have done wrong, and it is not good for you to worry about why they are challenging you. What you can do to move forward is to concentrate on the fact that you are a genuine and honest person. In life we should never feel we have to defend ourselves, it hurts to have someone you love accuse you of being dishonest. I struggle with this a lot.

Everyday I am making an effort to live a more honest life. When someone I feel loves me and has respect for me accuses me of being dishonest, it hurts.  It is knowing that you are an honest person and that your intentions are pure that keeps you sane in a situation in which you feel your are being accused of anything other that what you are genuinely trying to do.  If you trust yourself and know that you are being honest then everything will fall into place the way that it is meant to.

I have started a few blogs before, clearly none of them were a true reflection of myself or I would have kept with them.  I am still young and and I am still learning that I only have to be me and anything else is not my true self.  Finally getting to know who I really am has really opened a lot of metaphorical doors for me, one of them I hope will be this blog.

Today I was climbing the stairs up to my third floor apartment and I had one of those moments where you  realize how amazing your life really is, not perfect, but just right for you.  I tend to be a "grass is always greener" girl and recently I have been making a huge effort to let that be a part of my past and not my present or future.  There are a lot of things I could find to complain about in my life as everyone can, but even more, there are a lot of things I have to smile about in my life.  Stress, deadlines, and hard times come and go but great family, friends, talents, and nature remain and that is what we need to focus on in our lives.  I truly believe that how happy you are in life has a lot to do with how you choose to look at it.  Try it out and see for yourself!

I hope that my thoughts, musings, and experiences resonate well with you!  I really appreciate you stopping by, have an amazing day!
